Cartoons, Ninjas, and Strawberries

It has been a while since I last posted on this blog, but I am going to start posting more regularly. I have been reading my new children's book, Kazumi Racecar Pig and I would like share some of those events. School Assembly  I returned to my former elementary school to read my book to the students. It was one of the best times I have ever had. Everyone was so kind to me in setting up this event. The children were so wonderful and had a lot of great questions. Saxbys Reading  Saxbys coffee was kind enough to have me come to their location in Peddler's Village and read Kazumi to children and families there. It was such a fun experience. I met so many wonderful people and made some new friends. -DM

Hi Everyone, For this Fan Art Friday I had a request from my friend in the UK. Sapphire Cosplay. She does a lot of great cosplay plus I love Power Rangers so this was a real fun one to do. Enjoy! -DM

For this Fan Art Friday I decided to draw Rey in Stormtrooper disguise. I know she never wore this outfit in ep. 7, but I just love when the hero goes in disguise as the bad guys especially in Star Wars. Enjoy! -DM

Hi Everyone! In the new year I wanted to start and do something new, Fan Art Fridays! Every Friday I will try to post a new drawing from a show, movie, video game etc... that I am a fan of. My first one is of Melissa Benoist as Supergirl. I love the new CBS show. I was thinking of adding the Flash and Arrow. Maybe I'll add myself as Green Lantern. Add I like to show my process so here you go. Enjoy! -DM

Hello Everyone, I've recently created some designs for the Power Ranger T-Shirt design contest First, I did a Frozen inspired one with Rita and Finster. Finster always felt like he could be a good guy to me.  Path of the Green Ranger  It would've been cool to see the girls get a chance to wear the dragon shield. Maybe it will happen in the new movie franchise. Tommy and Kimberly, the best love story of my childhood. I still get choked up when she breaks up with him through that letter. What do you guys think? Head over to my facebook page to see all my latest animation. https://www.facebook.com/DavidMcBrideAnimation -DM

Hello Everyone!! I am going to make it a point to post more on this blog. Here is my latest animated video. I hope you like it!!!! Here is another recent video! Please stay tuned for great animation!! -DM

Here is a sketch I did last week of Iris West as The Flash. I am really enjoying the CW's Flash and thought it would be cool to see Iris as that character. I have a new video on my channel too. Please check it out! -DM

After almost five years I completed my latest short film! I hope everyone enjoys! -DM

Quick sketch I did for a friend of mine's weekly art Facebook page. That week's theme was Fairy, Post-Apocoliptic and Witch. I did this late that is why her feet are terrible! -DM

Here are a few pieces I did in the last two weeks. My friend started an art group on Facebook and on some break time I really enjoyed creating these. The second one was colored in Procreate. It is a great iPad app. I just found out it can make a video of my entire work process. -DM

I had been meaning to do a drawing of all the alien rangers from the past 21 years of Power Rangers for a while now. Since I've had some time off I decided to get started on it. After I want to do a drawing spotlighting Zane since he is one of my all time favorite rangers. I hope everyone enjoys the work in progress! -DM

Take a look at the logo I created for Pasta Tuesday! Featuring our character Lupo!! Lupo (meaning wolf in Italian) is the national animal of Italy. This hand drawn character will be featured in upcoming Pasta Tuesday endeavors. -DM

I love how the hair on the back of the neck is a very clear indication of the line of action in the giraffe. Beautiful animals!! -DM

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!! It was another fantastic Christmas for me, because I have such a great family. When I think about them I am reminded of the true meaning of Christmas and how lucky I am to have them in my life enriching my life everyday. One of our traditions is to have a traditional Italian candy called "Torrone". I got a lot of great gifts this year. My S.H. Figuarts collection got a little bigger. I have been collecting all my life and these figures have to be some of the best ever made. If I saw these Power Ranger figures as a kid I don't think I could have contained my excitement. The same can be said for the Legacy Morpher! You can also see the Doctor in this picture. I really became a big Doctor Who fan this year. The first Super Sentai series I watched that got me into Super Sentai was Gokaiger. So this gift was really awesome. Of course Christmas wouldn't be complete if I didn't ask for something Ninja Turtles. I can't remembe...

Love this song. -DM

I picked up volume one of Ninja Turtles The Next Mutation a few days ago. I didn't care for this show when it aired back in 1997 because the turtles were so different from what I was used. I didn't like it very much when my favorite characters were changed as a kid. That is why I had a hard time getting into Batman Beyond. Bruce was older and not Batman anymore. As I got older, I really loved that show and am enjoying the next mutation as well. As a die hard Ninja Turtle fan I have enjoyed every incarnation of them. Surprisingly, I am really into the new CGI series on Nick. It feels like a nice blend of the '87 and '03 series. As for the new movie currently being filmed in New York, I have my doubts. Michael Bay being attached to it in any way is disappointing and Megan Fox as April is just a joke. I would have loved to see Amy Adams as April. The other day, I watched the episode "Grudge Match" from the 2003 series. It is one of my favorites from that series ...

A little while ago I attempted to make a salad with the artistry and simple elegance of Japanese cooking in mind. I watch a lot of shows on the NHK World network and one of my favorites is Itadakimasu dining with the chef ( http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/english/tv/itadakimasu/index.html ). With that inspiration in mind here is what I came up with. It was very delicious. -DM
